HERE ARE THEM BIRDS IN 'COLOUR' STILL LOOK QUITE GREY TO ME.

Thursday, 27 December 2007

this photo was (obviously) clarted around with creatively, a bit too much perhaps but when you can save multiple images why not?
this was a dull day to start with and I think a dull day is beyond my photographic capabilities; fog: yes, but that general even greyness makes it difficult to get anything to look interesting but then the sun began to shine through the cloud, and I caught it behind the angel at the Haymarket in Newcastle. its interesting, I've never really looked at the statue with much interest before today.

I've photographed Tynemouth a lot but this was a nice catch, I don't know what kind of birds they were but they make a good foreground or perhaps the Priory makes a good background. I was surprised thy didn't fly off as I crept closer, crows certainly don't seem to like having their picture taken but these didn't seem to mind

this

was a little while ago, its one of my favorite pictures so I don't know why it hasn't been uploaded till now. I love the aerial perspective, the tonal recession and the crows of course very good looking birds in my humble opinion.

had a good trip to Allenheads on wednesday, nice light, saw my first snow (only in shady hollows)

this is my car! it's a little bit knackered at the moment.

this was the morning I got my left leg stuck in 3 ft of freezing (but not frozen) mud, !!!! shoe came off and when I retrieved it it was a big cold lump of mud ,had to put it back on and wash my hand in freezing sea water. Still got a few nice shots before my battery conked out!

another moring but very wild and windy by the pier at Tynemouth.
a sea of burning gold! yes' I think you could say I am a morning person: mornings out and about in the pleasures of God's landscape; evenings sitting like a moron in front of the tv watching rubbish.

early one morning again!

getting up and out early has its rewards, this was a fantastic morning waiting for and catching the sunrise, If my memory serves me right a short while later the sun vanished in the thick stratus clouds and the day became very dull, but I SAW THE SUNRISE! This one was fiddled with a little to make it more dramatic.
this is about as bright as my camera can take.

this morning along Tynemouth coast. Nice reflections on wet sand. Uploaded more but something didn't work. Flippin' computer! oh; just a minute I curse the machine prematurely; thar she blows! at least there it is but why is my writing blue????

the Angel of the North from beghind a tree because the big man is scary!! (not really; just me trying to get a differetn shot)_
these am nice clouds alto cumulus perhaps but then again perhaps not, nice whatever they are called.

Newcastle quayside Spiller's Factory, nice reflection if I say so.
the Baltic , again; nice reflection.

these are some from the river on a grey morning, a nice grey, me on the rocks risking life and limb to capture some nice pictures. I think this is a different morning with a very nice yellow glow. by the fish quay.

this has been adjusted (never!) I think it looks cool, its from the hills above Allendale. Salwell Park again.
Lindisfarne, I love it even in the rain.

reflections: isn't this a nice pair with an equally nice sunset in between?
this is in South Shields in case anyone is out there and interested.

Friday, 16 November 2007

this is from the other morning, one of the nice things about winter approaching is that you can have a little lie in and still catch the sunrise. Before the sun rises Venus (I think it's Venus) is very bright in the south. this is a branch on a tree in Saltwell park. I used to take my kids there often and was taken there as a child. Apparently I was a nasty child and tried to stamp on frogs while there or so may parents told me and why would they lie?
Not everyone likes the Angel of the North, then again not everyone likes Kate Bush (Heather thinks she is a bit of a wailing banshee): I like them both myself, but in different ways, of course.

Thursday, 15 November 2007

this shopuld have been the day before the last if you get me, but the pictures wouldn't upload. a very early rise and another nice sunrise at St Mary's Island
I liked the contrast between the cool and warm sides of the landscape

this morning up at 10 to 7, out on my bike and just in time to see the sun rise.Speaking of which Alice Cooper did an interesting version of tRolf Harris' song Sun Arise on the Album Love it To Death.
the moring light was rather nice.

mostly skies, aren't rainbows great? here's a lone figure with dog on wet sand, could do with some editting
a very high sea, Whitley Bay while I was skiving from Church last sunday morning

is it a bird?
lashing and crashing waves Tynemouth pier
some dramatic skies with crepuscular rays I think.
