a couple of photos from a recent trip to the Lake district. I like this tree and its shadow; a duck had just swum by causing the ripples. this bird was in a tree being harassed by much smaller blackbirds just caught it but have no idea what it is.
morning is my best time, I like this misty lake, it's Windermere which is usually a bit busy but this was early and there was hardly anyone around.

mist!!!!!

often I say to my students that one of the good things about being into art is that you get to enjoy more weather! mist! great; out with camera! lovely lovely light with sun just smiling through and gentle reflections. Beautiful. another sunrise. Have been discussing the meaning of art a bit on a art discussing site (about.com:painting) is beauty just a subjective issue; how I feel about a sight, or is there some objective reality, is a sunrise truly beautiful no matter what I think or feel? should our appreciation and art production be aligned with what is in fact beautiful? Whatever; this is a beautiful sunrise. and that's a fact. which is more than you can say about some of my paintings.
back to the misty morning, a flock(?) of swans flew down the river and then came back, didn't realy capture the site but it was good to see and hear them in the mist. If you llok hard you might see them although if you look hard people might also be scared of you!

this was a great day for clouds! all major clouds formations and species agree. there is something here but I'm not sure what a man chasing another with a sack on his back? who knows?
this was a biggun! I read that a medium size cumulus clouds contains water as heavy as 80 elephants!!!!!

here's an interesting cloud scudding, as writers like to descriibe it, across the windswept sky. sometimes (often) I take rubbish pictures, here's one; I have many such.
This was an awesome sky. it was indeed! Some clouds seem to make the sky bigger if you know what I mean.
